Carving axe with contoured handle.  Designed for woodcarvers of spoons, figurines or bowls. Light and versatile, roughing out bowls, spoons or ladle stocks. Chopping for larger removal or shaving action for fine details. It is a midweight axe with double bevel so it is perfect for right or left handed user.

They are hand forged by a master blacksmith in Hungary.

The head is hand forged from spring steel (56SIcr7). The blade part is hardened to 56-58 Hrc. After final sharpening and honing the blade has an additional heat treatment and that will produce the golden coating on the surface which will rub off after usage.  It is razor sharp and ready to use.

The axes are all hand forged so slight variation acceptable in dimension and weight.

- Handle is hornbeam with tung oil coating. Handle length including head 325mm / 12.75"

- Leather sheet edge protection.

- Total weight without leather sheet is 750-800grams

To keep it sharp hone it on a leather strop with honing compound.

This is a serious edge tool so handle it with care. 

Practice makes a master, so use it often.
